Nashville, the state capital of Tennesse, is located in the central part of the state, and is the second largest city in the state. The city is known as a major center of music production.

The most commonly manufactured products include wood, glass, rubber, and steel, producing a vibrant economy that attracts newcomers, and keeps local Nashville movers busy. The city boasts a large recording industry for several recognized artists, especially for those producing country music. History
James Robertson and John Donelson founded the area as a fort beginning in 1779. It was named in honor of Francis Nash, who was a soldier in the recently ended Revolutionary War. In the 1800's, the city began to develop and a major trade route went through it. In 1843, Nashville became the state capital of Tennessee. The Tennessee Centennial Exposition in 1897 was a World's Fair in Nashville. An exact replica of the Parthenon was built which still stands today. In 1918, two trains crashed in Nashville killing 101 people. It has been labeled the Great Train Wreck of 1918 and was the deadliest train crash in the country's history. During the 1960's, the city had frequent civil rights protests and movements. A large tornado hit the city in 1998 causing hundreds of houses and buildings to be damaged.
Tourism
Nashville International Airport is located eight miles from the city. The Nashville Predators of the NHL and the Tennessee Titans of the NFL are the only major professional sports team, among several smaller collegiate and professional teams. Popular attractions include the Bluebird Cafe, Ryman Auditorium, and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Historical buildings of the city include the War Memorial Building, and a replica of the Parthenon and Fort Nashborough.
